Shipyard - Introduction

Bavaria Yachts - Quality at a fair price

More than 30 years ago, in 1978, the first Bavaria Yacht left the shipyard. Since then Bavaria has become a synonym for sailing and motor yachts with an outstanding price-performance relation. All Bavaria Yachts are built in the south of Germany, in the small town of Giebelstadt near Würzburg. Here, more than 650 employees are building sailing and motoryachts of lengths between 29 and 56 feet in one of the world's largest and most innovative series production facilities.

The design comes from renowned naval architects and yacht designers such as Farr Yacht Design and Design Unlimited developping innovative, carefully constructed boats of lasting value.

The consistent implementation of computer-aided manufacturing processes on assembly lines - formerly only known in the car building industry - is essential and guarantees highest precision and productivity. Hulls and decks are transferred by a rail system to the specific assembly stations. CNC-devices and complex robotic systems are used everywhere, e. g. for the milling and drilling necessary to incoporate fittings and hatches or in the enormous carpentry workshop.

These techniques, together with the know-how and the skills of the employees, enable Bavaria to produce their quality yachts at a highly competitive price - to the benefit of each customer.
